Ecofair Ekumal

Design for the Ecofair at Ekumal

Creating a design for a sustainable festival

Ekumal is a retreat center nestled in the jungle of Mexico. Every year, they host an event where they invite speakers from all over to talk about their sustainable projects. Local artists are invited to sell their art at the festival, and performers are encouraged to teach workshops or perform as part of the shows. The event takes place annually, and I felt honored to design for the festival in 2022. I created a logo for them and illustrated the posters and several merchandise products. I also created a map and a schedule for the event so everyone could easily find their way around.
Additionally, I designed some wooden boards that were installed throughout Ekumal, telling the story of how the owner created this place. This included a wayfinding signage system to guide visitors through the festival. As part of that, I designed an app where people could click on a specific location and see the schedule for the events happening there, along with information about the speakers. It was a beautiful project that I enjoyed to the fullest, especially because I got to experience the festival afterward and see all my work in action.
